People of the Book/Scripture (Arabic: أهل الكتاب ′Ahl al-Kitāb) is an Islamic term which refers to Jews, Christians and Sabians and is sometimes applied to members of other religions such as Zoroastrians. It is also used in Judaism to refer to the Jewish people and by members of some Christian denominations to refer to themselves.
The Quran uses the term in reference to Jews. They call Jews and Christians the "People of the Book" and allow them to practice their own religions.
Muslims believe that Muhammad is the "seal of the prophecy," by which they mean that he is. Muslims consider the Quran, their holy book, to be the verbatim word of God as revealed to the Islamic prophet and messenger Muhammad.
The majority of Muslims also follow the teachings and practices of Muhammad as recorded in traditional accounts.
